Rafting trips from Riu Guanacaste and Riu Palace in the Guanacaste province

All our trips include transportation from the hotel to the river and back, but in case you have your own transportation, we can also offer the rafting trips without the transportation.
Tenorio River Class 3 to 4 rafting
The Rio Tenorio River is one of the most scenic whitewater rafting rivers in Costa Rica. It is also the best river for some adventurous whitewater rafting descent in the province of Guanacaste.
The potent river offers some technical yet fun river sections, where clients can enjoy zig zagging around rocks and boulders, go down little falls and have fun in the river waves. The scenario around it is also quite amazing, since it is mostly surrounded by tropical dry forest, typical of the province.

In case you are not interested in the exhilaration of strong river waves, the Corobici offers a more soft river adventure, focusing on the amazing wildlife that inhabits the river borders.
During the descent, you will also have the chance of enjoying a typical river adventure, a nature experience amidt the enchanting natural beauty of the tropical dry forests. It is a great opportunity to spot species of monkeys, including howler monkeys and many birds, caimans, river turtles and other species.
Hotels where we can pick you up:
Both RIU PALACE and RIU GUANACASTE are located on Playa Matapalo, a bit further South of El Coco Beach, in Northern Guanacaste. We can pick clients up from the hotel and the tours include round trips transportation from the hotel to the river section and back.
How long is the tour ?
The tours on the river last for around 2 hours to 3 hours, depending on the water levels. Additionally, you have to add the transportation from the hotel and back.
The tour lasts for around 6 hours in total, including the actually 1.5 hours of the river descent. Thew transportation, via land, takes around 1.5 hours each way.

Riu Palace and Riu Guanacaste are two large all inclusive beach hotels located on a beach called Playa Matapalo. Matapalo is situated around 25 minutes further south from Playas del Coco.
